The Jubilee Races 2011 – Entrant Information
Thank you for entering The 2011 Jubilee Series of road races sponsored by Sweatshop and held in accordance with UK Athletics Rules (Race Permit no. 2011-101417).
Please see the course map, which includes directions to the venue and your race number (the same number to be used for all races if you have entered The Series). Please ensure you complete the ‘emergency contact details’ on the reverse of your number.
The Jubilee Races are held on an undulating 2 lap, 5 mile. Competitors should note that this year we have moved the start and finish locations by approximately 50m to improve competitor safety and residents access. The Jubilee Races are British Association of Road Races (BARR) certificated at Bronze grading. Please help us, and yourselves, by ensuring that you read and follow the advice and instructions below, and on race day you follow the instructions of Race Marshals and Officials.
Parking and Directions
Please ensure you allow plenty of time to get to the race venue, and do take extra care on the approach to the race and in particular in the Rivington and Lever Park area, some of the roads are narrow and winding and there will be additional pedestrian and vehicle traffic due to the race(s). Runners and Spectators must not park on the roads but utilise off road parking, on the tracks between the Race HQ at Rivington Village Club (Horrobin Lane, Rivington BL6 7SE) and the Lower Barn and at the side of the main driveway up to Rivington Hall Barn. Please ensure that you allow yourself enough time before each race to get from the car parking areas to the Start.
Race HQ/ Registration/Presentations
Please note that registration and presentations for all Jubilee Races will be at the NEW Race HQ at Rivington Village Club (Opposite the Bowling Club on Horrobin Lane, Rivington BL6 7SE), where there are changing and toilet facilities. Should you wish to leave any personal items at the registration we shall be happy to look after these, but whilst we will endeavour to keep these safe we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage.
Race Registration for on the day entrants will close at 7.15pm. (Note: due to the location of the New Race HQ and revised Start Line you must register by 7.15pm to reach the start for 7.30pm)
Race InstructionsRunners must keep to the footpath whenever possible and run on the left-hand side of the road. Please be aware that the course is not traffic free and runners should be aware of, and be considerate to vehicles. When returning from the finish area please keep left to allow those still racing to finish unhindered. Drinking water will be available on the road outside the Bowling Club Car Park.
Non Finishers
Any runner who retires from the race, for whatever reason should contact the nearest Marshall and must advise the registration desk in the Race HQ. First Aid support is provided by St Johns Ambulance and will be located at the start of the race in the ‘Start’ area and then at the Spectators Viewing Point near the ‘Finish’ line. For the benefit of St Johns Ambulance staff and the Race Marshalls/Organisers please ensure you have completed the ‘emergency contact details’ on the reverse of your number.
Race ResultsFull races results will be available on the night at the Race HQ, on line via The Jubilee Races website www.thejubileeroadraces.co.uk) or they can be posted out to competitors by providing a S.A.E and 50 pence at the registration desk on race night.
Our Environment
We have the continued support of United Utilities, Lancashire Constabulary and Chorley Council which enables us to hold The Jubilee Series of Road Races. Please help preserve the West Pennine Moors by car sharing to reduce traffic and parking congestion and ensure you respect the Rivingtion and Lever Park area by utilising waste bins and toilet facilities.
The Jubilee Series is now in its 27th year and we hope you enjoy your run(s) and look forward to another exciting series. We are always keen to welcome back familiar faces as well as greet new friends.
